Members Sections

The Club has an active Men's Section with regular Strokeplay, Stableford and Matchplay competitions. There are also 4BBB, Foursomes and Texas Scrambles competitions.

Flintshire Handicap League

The league is played in a series of Men’s 4BBB matches against the other Flintshire golf clubs with home and away fixtures.  The maximum handicap is 24.  Matches are played on Thursdays starting at 4.15pm.  The cost to play is £10 including golf and a meal.

We will help you settle in, introduce you to other members and take you around the course. If you do not have a handicap, we can explain what you need to do and help you get one.

With competitions on Wednesdays and at weekends there is usually something on each week but there is always time for non-competition or social games.

We are one of a growing number of clubs that schedule regular competitions to allow people to choose playing partners regardless of age or gender. This is a great way of enabling couples, friends and families to play together in a competitive format. There are also mixed competitions throughout the year as well as matches against our Senior men which are always great fun.

There is an online booking system so you can choose the time you want to play from the comfort of your armchair or ring the Pro Shop.

Our Professional Mark has an excellent reputation as a coach and can offer tuition on the practice ground or on the course.

All gentleman members of the Club who are over 55 are eligible to participate in the Senior Section. You don’t have to join - you just have to be old enough! 
During the main season there are eight matches both home and away (so 16 in total) and exchange visits with other clubs, a competition together with the Ladies Section, plus an away day towards the end of the season. All are followed by a meal to continue the social side of each event.
Various competitions, many organised by the Seniors’ Committee, are held on either Tuesdays or Thursdays from yellow tees and, in addition, the Club runs a monthly medal from the white tees from April to September which culminates in a Matchplay Final for the Pandora Trophy. 
Regular emails are sent out to all Seniors to keep them informed of upcoming events so you won’t miss out if you are new to the Seniors’ Section or to the Club.

Seniors Committee

We have a very active Junior section with regular competitions and coaching sessions managed by our professional Mark Wilcock.

Padeswood & Buckley is a Golf Union of Wales Accredited Coaching Centre, one of only four in North Wales. Mark runs the Young Masters Golf Coaching programme which is suitable for juniors of all ages and leads to certification at each level of competence achieved.
